Would you believe it? TWO bets come in from last night's World Cup punts! Hold on to your hats...

Now this, folks, is what you call a hotstreak. After two consecutive successes on trebles involving draws, we were quids in from our modest £1 first goalscorer bet early doors when Frank slammed in England's opening goal from the spot. Happy days. Eight quid in the pocket, all bets covered and loose change on top, that'll do for a pleasant evening.

But we weren't finished there, oh no. As news arrived throughout Europe that Slovakia, Italy, Holland and Russia had all won as we predicted, it left us waiting on post-midnight kick-offs in South America to find out if Uruguay (at home to Columbia), Brazil (home to Chile) and Paraguay (at home to, gulp, Argentina) would all claim victories and win us 93 quid.

Low and behold this morning as we got ready for work we checked the results and let out a flatmate-awaking yelp of joy as it turns out our accie from last night came in with bells on. Total winnings of both bets therefore: £101. Plus our £2 stake back

Needless to say, given the amount of shite we spout on a daily basis, the phrase "if you throw enough shit some of it will stick" is certainly looking spot on here.
